Tiger boys' water polo beat Redwood in WYL play, ladies lose 9-3

Lemoore’s boys’ water polo team improved to 4-4 in the West Yosemite League, while the Tiger ladies continue to struggle in league play. The boys edged Redwood High School in the Lemoore swimming pool Thursday night 8-7, while the girls dropped a 9-3 decision to the Rangers.

The Tiger boys improved to 12-9 overall. The ladies are 0-8 in the WYL.

Spencer Denney led all Tiger scorers Thursday night with three goals. Drew Gobby and Cameron Olson each scored a pair of goals. Alex Eastridge also managed to score.

For the girls, Charlotte Aguilar scored twice and came up with three steals. Samantha Costa scored and had four steals on the night.

Delilha Van Hoek turned in an impressive performance with 10 blocks, two steals, and an assist.

Both teams will be in Visalia on Tuesday (Oct. 18) for a match against Mt. Whitney. The Tiger boys are mired in fifth place as Golden West tops the field with an 8-1 record.

The boys were scheduled to play in a tournament at Clovis West High School this weekend.
