Tigers duo Raulino, Moreno win league doubles title at Golden West

Lemoore tennis aces Kaitlin Raulino and Cynthia Moreno won the West Yosemite League doubles title this past week at the WYL Championships held Friday afternoon at Golden West High School. The talented duo turned in an impressive performance in the finals, beating the No. 2 seeded Redwood team.

Helena Cavero and Madison Kuntz took third, while fifth ranked Serena Mendoza took fourth in singles competitions, while Valori Meraz was eliminated in the semifinals of the consolation bracket.

To win the WYL title, Raulino and Moreno earned a first-round bye before beating Redwood’s No. 2 team 8-5. They shut out a team from Mt. Whitney 8-0.

 In the finals the Tiger twosome beat Redwood 8-5 for the title.

All the Lemoore winners and qualifiers will move on to the area competition to be held at Redwood High School on Oct 28. Team playoffs being Thursday.
