West Hills College Lemoore Golden Eagles off to a good start, host San Mateo Friday night Nov. 18
Unfortunately, the Golden Eagles dropped their opener, losing a 72-66 contest to American River in the kickoff game. The Eagles rebounded on Friday, beating Los Medanos 57-45 and then edging Shasta College on Saturday 56-52.

There was plenty of positive things to talk about said Eagles Head Coach Andrea Picchi. “We had many bright spots over the three days,” she said in a release. “Taylor Vasquez, a Lemoore High School grad, scored 15 points in the final game.”
Michelle Brown, a Hoover High product, earned all-tournament honors, averaging 28 points per game and 11 rebounds.
Picchi also had kind words for Savannah Pates, who returns to the lineup this year after two years due to an injury. “She was amazing with eight points per game, four blocks per game, and 10 rebounds.”
For the next several weeks the Golden Eagles will play in tournaments, including this weekend when West Hills Lemoore will host San Mateo College in the first game of the College of the Sequoias Tournament (games are being played at both sites). Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Golden Eagle Arena.
West Hills will play in the Santa Ana Tournament beginning Dec. 1 and then take part in the annual Santa Rosa Tournament on Dec. 8. Tourney play will conclude with the annual West Hills Lemoore Tournament, slated for Dec. 16-18.
