Lady Tigers win, lose in Arvin tourney

Lemoore’s Lady Tiger basketball team suffered a disappointing 66-27 loss to Independence Wednesday, despite 11 points from Katelynn Cole, in the annual Arvin Holiday Showcase near Bakersfield.

Lemoore played twice on Wednesday, beating Liberty High School 43-29 before taking on Independence in the afternoon contest.

Lemoore fell to 5-4 overall and is 1-0 in the West Yosemite League after a victory against Hanford West earlier this month.

Lemoore opens league play with a game at Redwood on Jan. 5. The Tigers were slated to play Golden Valley High School Thursday afternoon in the Arvin tourney.
