A disappointing season for Lemoore’s girls’ soccer team ended Wednesday with a 1-0 loss to Hanford. The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-6-2 in the West Yosemite League, meaning the Tigers won’t be entering the playoffs.  The Tigers finished 8-10-2 overall.

Lemoore’s boys’ team finished out of the running as well, but completed the season with a 5-1 victory over Hanford on Wednesday night (Feb. 8). The Lemoore boys finished 5-7 in the WYL and 10-13-2 overall.

“It’s been a weird season,” said Coach Janet Brown. “We played good soccer, we played with heart, we worked hard, but we just couldn’t finish. We were very disappointed, but we knew we did all we could do.”

Redwood High School won the WYL with a solid 11-1 record while Hanford finished in second place with a 9-2 mark. El Diamante won the boys’ title in soccer with an 11-1 mark. Second place went to Golden West High School.
