Lemoore police seek information regarding high speed pursuit; drugs involved
The Lemoore officers initially stopped the red-colored vehicle on North 19th Avenue due to expired registration. The primary officer approached the driver's side of the vehicle, and before he could speak with the driver, the vehicle quickly sped away from the traffic stop, forcing the police officers to begin a pursuit.
The vehicle sped northbound on North 19th Ave. at approximately 60 miles per hour before making an eastbound turn onto West Hanford Armona Rd. It continued traveling at high speeds and then turned northbound onto 18 3/4 Avenue.
While traveling eastbound on Lacey Blvd. and just east of 18th Ave., the officer witnessed an occupant throw an unknown object out from the vehicle on to the dirt shoulder. The vehicle sped away at speeds of over 100 mph, and when the pursuit reached Lacey Blvd and 14th Ave., the Lemoore officers terminated the pursuit due to the increased traffic flow, keeping the safety of the public in mind.
Lemoore police officers returned to the area where the unknown object was thrown from the vehicle. Officers located two separate clear plastic bags containing a white powdery substance that was later determined to be 21 grams of cocaine.
The vehicle was identified as a Honda Accord four-door with faded window tint, polished wheels and a rear spoiler.
The Honda was occupied by five subjects.
This case is still under investigation, and anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Lemoore Police Department at 559-924-9574.
