Tigers beat El Diamante Monday, Blazers up next at home in tennis

The Lemoore boys’ tennis beat El Diamante 7-2 on Monday while the Lemoore junior varsity pounded out a 4-1 victory.  Spencer Denney and Drew Gobby continued their winning ways, powering past opponents 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 respectively.

In other action, Arnold Cabuhat won in a third set tie break 2-6, 6-3 (10-5), and Jan Cunanan was the only singles loss 2-6, 1-6. Earl Magno won 6-2, 6-3 to go along with Collin Bresenio’s 6-2, 6-2 win.

In doubles play, it was a much tougher battle.  Denney/Gobby won 8-6.  Magno/ Bresenio lost in a tie break 8-9(4-7).  Connor Riley and Vincent Cam won in third doubles 8-5. 

The Tigers return home Wednesday for a West Yosemite League match with Golden West at 4 p.m.

The Tigers improved to 3-1 in the WYL and are 10-5 overall.
