Much will be on the line for Lemoore High’s varsity boys’ tennis team as it takes on Redwood Wednesday (Apr. 5) in a home match that very well could decide the West Yosemite League championship.

One of the dominant tennis teams in the Central Section, the Rangers defeated the Tigers 8-1 in their first match on March 13 in Visalia. Redwood is 7-0 in the WYL and have an overall record of 11-6. The Tigers will go into Wednesday’s match sporting an impressive 6-1 mark in league play and overall 13-5 record.

On Wednesday (Apr. 29) the Tigers trounced Hanford West 9-0 to set up Wednesday’s important match with Redwood. The match begins at 4 p.m.

Conner Denney and Drew Gobby again turned in impressive matches, Denney coming away with a 6-1, 6-0 win while Gobby trounced his West opponent 6-0, 6-0. Arnold Cabuhat and Collin Bresenio blanked their opponents while Earl Magno won 6-1, 6-0. Jan Cunanan also won by a 6-1, 6-0 final.
