Lemoore police arrest four juveniles suspected of trashing local schools

The Lemoore Police Department has arrested four suspects in a March 27 Liberty Middle School burglary were at last four juvenile suspects ransacked, vandalized and took several items. Police say the estimated vandalism damage amounted to about $1,000. An iPad was stolen as well.

The school’s Youth Development Officer, Jonathan Moritz, investigated the case along with three other similar burglaries reported from Cinnamon Elementary, P.W. Engvall and Lemoore Elementary. Those burglaries occurred while the schools were closed and the same persons are suspected of being involved.

With the assistance of the department’s detectives and the Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team, Moritz conducted follow-up investigation and utilized video surveillance to identify the suspects. 

A total of four juvenile suspects were identified and arrested at their residences in Lemoore.  The juveniles’ ages ranged from 15-17 years old.  A search warrant was authored for one of the juvenile suspect’s residence located in Lemoore, and one of the Liberty Middle School’s stolen iPads was recovered. 

All the juvenile suspects were transported and booked into the Kings County Juvenile Center for the charges of burglary, vandalism, and conspiracy.
