Lemoore’s varsity girls’ softball team dropped a pair of games in the Clovis Easter Classic. On Tuesday, Lemoore fell 11-4 to Clovis North High School in a morning game and then dropped a 11-6 game to Clovis West High.

In the morning game against North High, Lemoore’s bats came alive, connecting on 14 hits in the game, but the Tigers couldn’t stifle West’s bats – and its run-scoring abilities as Clovis batters strung out 15 hits for 11 runs.

For the Tigers’ Kendra Hawken went three for four in the game with an RBI while Susannah Campos had a pair of hits with two RBI. Sierra Phelps, Madison Wallace, Katelyn Cole each had a pair of hits while Megan Ambriz, Jordyn Antuna and Shelly Jobe each connected once.

In the afternoon game, the Tigers again scattered a total of nine hits but fell short in the 11-6 loss. Ambriz led the Tigers with two hits and two RBI while Cole went two for three with a pair of runs batted in. Hawken again stroked two hits as did Wallace, who also drove home a run.

The Tigers fell to 11-10 overall and have a 1-3 West Yosemite League records as they prepare this week to get back into the thick of the league race. Lemoore will hit the road on Wednesday, April 19 to take on Hanford in a 4:30 p.m. game.
