Tiger softball pick up a win in West Yosemite League action, Blazers at home May 10

Lemoore’s varsity softball team got back into the winner’s circle in a May 3 game, beating Mt. Whitney 11-4. However, the next day, the Tigers dropped a 7-6 decision in Visalia to El Diamante High School. Lemoore fell to 2-8 in the WYL and is 12-15 overall.

The Tigers will host Golden West in a WYL matchup on Tuesday (May 10).

In Wednesday’s win, Lemoore’s bats came alive as the Tigers scored 11 runs on 11 hits. Madison Wallace did the most damage with three hits and three RBI. Katelyn Cole and Megan Ambriz also had three hits and drove in three runs between them.

The Tigers fell behind early when the Pioneers scored twice in the first, but Lemoore responded with four runs to take the lead. The Lady Tigers picked up two more in the second for a commanding 6-2 lead, but Mt. Whitney, in the third cut the lead to 4-2.

Mt. Whitney didn’t score again as Tiger pitcher Nikki Antuna allowed eight hits and struck out five to earn the win.
