Tiger swimmers fall short in West Yosemite League championships, prepare for Central Section meet

It was Disneyland Grad Night last Friday and it reflected on the Lemoore High School swimming team’s performance at the West Yosemite League meet, held at Lemoore High School.

“Unfortunately, all of our seniors were gone for the finals on Friday due to being at Disneyland Grad Night, so we didn’t score as many points as we were hoping,” said Tiger Coach Jeff Kuykendall.

Lemoore, despite its missing seniors, did turn in some good times, including 31 season “bests” out of 49 races.

On the boys’ side, Riley Gibson had two 2nd place finishes (200 IM and 100 Breast), while Cameron Olson (100 free, 100 breast) and Chris Bonham (200 and 500 free) had two 3rd place finishes.

For the girls, two swimmers made it back into the A final, with Dani Harmon getting 7th in the 200 free and Megan Pedro getting 7th in the 500 free.

The Tigers will compete today (May 12) and tomorrow in the Division 1 Central Section championships at Clovis West.  Lemoore will have 10 swimmers going, and have qualified all three relays for the boys
