Neither of the Lemoore High School diamond teams are bound for the Central Section playoffs, but the school’s softball team ended its season on a high note, winning its final two games, including beating Hanford 11-8 in the season finale on Friday (May 12).

On Wednesday, the Lady Tigers crushed Golden West on the Tigers’ diamond 12-1.

The varsity boys’ baseballers split their final two games with the Bullpups, beating Hanford 10-5 in Hanford on Wednesday before returning to Lemoore Friday night and losing their finale 8-2.

The boys’ struggle for much of the season, finishing with an overall record of 9-17 while finishing 5-7 in the demanding West Yosemite League. The Lady Tigers finished the season campaign at 14-15 and struggled in the WYL with a disappointing 4-8 mark.

In their finale against the Bullpups, the Tigers baseball team held its own for much of the game, before allowing four runs in the seventh, giving Hanford the win. The Bullpups had 15 hits on the day while Lemoore, despite scoring two runs in its half of the seventh, had just seven hits on the day.

The Lady Tigers received an impressive performance Megan Ambriz who collect three RBI on a four-four-four performance at the plate. She got some help too as Sierra Phelps and Madison Wallace each had three hits.

Tiger batters had a field day at the plate Friday, ripping the ball for 18 total hits. Tiger pitchers Ashtyn Lucas and Nikki Antuna held the Bullpups to just eight hits.
