The Lemoore Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who fled from Lemoore Police Officers on Wednesday, May 24 at about 3:33 p.m.

It was on Wednesday that Lemoore officers were dispatched to the area of W. Bush St. and Highway 41 for an unknown type of disturbance between a male and female inside of a vehicle. The vehicle was described as a white car, possibly a Honda. Lemoore officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle that matched the description. An officer saw the vehicle exiting a gas station in the area.

The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle but the driver proceeded to stop next to a female that was walking in the area and yell at her. The driver then sped away and a pursuit ensued. Due to heavy traffic congestion in the area, officers terminated the pursuit and trailed the vehicle's path based on the last known direction of travel.

The suspect fled from the vehicle and ran into the backyard of a residence on Bush St. Lemoore police placed Lemoore Elementary School on lockdown status due to its proximity to the suspect and search.

Lemoore officers, with the assistance of Kings County Probation Officers and a CHP helicopter, searched the area for the suspect, but after a lengthy search the suspect was not located. During the pursuit, the driver threw out approximately 20.5 grams of methamphetamine. It was later discovered that the suspect vehicle was an unreported stolen vehicle from within the City of Lemoore.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Santos at 559-924-9574. LPD case#L1701499.
