Lemoore High School grad Tristan Rowell begins reign as District 7 Dairy Princess
Rowell, 18, who went up against Lemoore’s Kristina Raulino, currently attending West Hills College and LHS junior Jolene Simas, won her crown Friday night in the Hanford Civic Auditorium.
Rowell plans to attend West Hills College in the fall on a Presidential Scholarship and then transfer to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where she plans to major in agriculture. She wants to teach agriculture.
Rowell, the daughter of Butch Rowell and Tricia Soares, was an active student at Lemoore High. She was a four-year member of the LHS Pep Squad, Future Farmers of America treasurer and all-around FFA member, and a California Scholastic Federation member.
“I entered the dairy princess competition because I wanted to represent and give back to the dairy industry because it’s done so much for me and my family,” said Rowell. “Hearing my name announced as the 2017-2018 District 7 Dairy Princess was such a shocking and humbling moment. I’ve worked hard for this and it was simply amazing at the least. I am so honored to be given this title for the year.”
