Lemoore police arrest drunk driver and felon with ammunition and firearms

Lemoore police officers arrested a pair of wayward drivers, one of whom was booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and the other a convicted felon in possession of live ammunition and two counts of possessing firearms.

It was on Thursday, July 28, that a patrolling Lemoore police officer, spotted a gray four-door vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit on East Hanford-Armona Road near Beverly Drive.

The officer attempted a routine stop when he noticed the vehicle traveling in residential neighborhoods without its lights. The vehicle was traveling at approximately 50 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone. The officer finally stopped the car o East Hazelwood Drive.

During the traffic stop, the officer located five subjects inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Alicia Eileen Grijalva, was from Lemoore. The suspect was determined to be under-the-influence of alcohol and had two $50,000 Kings County warrants for her arrest.

Police identified another suspect as Angel Ruiz Romero, age 27 from Eloy, Arizona. Angel was in possession of a holstered 9mm semi-automatic handgun containing a high capacity magazine loaded with 19 live ammunition rounds. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun with six live rounds. The officer also located an ammunition box containing 39 live 9mm rounds.

Alicia was arrested and transported to the Kings County Jail where she was booked on the two $50,000 Kings County warrants and for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Angel was arrested and transported to the Kings County Jail where he police booked him for the live ammunition and two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Bail was set at $30,000.
