Alert resident helps Lemoore police catch early-morning downtown vandal
An alert citizen helped police identify a suspect in a Sept. 10 early-morning incident in which several downtown businesses were vandalized by graffiti.

Later that day, Casey Taylor, 32 years of age, from Lemoore was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and booked into the Kings County Jail. Taylor's bail was $30,000.

Lemoore Police Department officers located several businesses that had been vandalized by graffiti. The businesses were in the downtown business district of Lemoore, within a three-block area.

The vandalism consisted of graffiti and police estimate the damage exceeded $400, making the crimes a felony.

At about 7 p.m., officers received a call from a Lemoore resident reporting two subjects walking near the railroad tracks near the Lemoore downtown.

The citizen said that the subjects were vandalizing the railroad cars on the tracks. When officers arrived on the scene, they located both subjects and found graffiti.

A further investigation revealed that one of the two subjects was involved in the vandalism of the businesses earlier that morning as well as the damage to the train car.
