Lemoore water polo in win against El Diamante in OT to hang on to WYL second place

Lemoore’s boys’ water polo team survived three overtime periods to maintain its hold on second place in the West Yosemite League. The Tigers defeated visiting El Diamante 16-15 in league water polo action Tuesday.

Lemoore got a big boost from its all-star Cameron Olson, who pumped in six goals against the Miners and had four steals to lead the Tigers.

Lemoore improved to 3-1 in the WYL, just a game behind unbeaten Redwood High School. The Tigers are 12-5 overall. Lemoore takes on Golden West today (Sept. 27) in Visalia.

On Tuesday, the two teams were deadlocked at 12-12 after four quarters. Lemoore outscored the Miners in the three OT periods 4-3.

Lemoore's varsity girls' team dropped a 10-6 match against El Diamante Tuesday night. The Tigers fell to 0-4 in the WYL and 6-11 overall.

Previous action

Lemoore’s varsity water polo teams were delivered a blow Tuesday night when visiting Redwood upset the boys’ team 12-10 and the girls’ 16-0.Both Tiger teams will try to get back on the winning track when they visit Mt. Whitney High School Thursday night.

The Tiger boys fell to 1-1 in the West Yosemite League and are 7-5 overall. The girls are 6-9 overall and 0-2 in league.
