A pair of shoe prints, left behind by a suspected burglar, helped lead to the apprehension of a suspect in an Oct. 2 burglary after Kings County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a suspicious person.

It was at about 12:45 p.m. that deputies responded to the report of a residential burglary which occurred on 14th Ave. During the investigation, they discovered two rifles and other property stolen from the home and later found shoe impressions leading officers to believe left by the suspect – later identified as Robert Rebolo, 27.

While seeking the suspect, deputies located the two stolen rifles in an orchard south of the residence and returned them to their owner.

About two hours later, a concerned citizen saw Rebolo walking out of an orchard several miles away from the victim’s home. The concerned citizen, not knowing Rebolo was involved in the burglary, reported the suspicious man to law enforcement.

When deputies arrived, they spoke to Rebolo and found his shoes had the same pattern located earlier at the scene of the burglary. Rebolo was questioned and confessed to the theft. The suspect was on active CDC Parole and was not in compliance with his parole terms.

Deputies booked Rebolo into the Kings County Jail for burglary, grand theft of firearms, and a parole violation. His bail was set at $100,000.
