Lemoore's varsity boys' water polo team ended its regular season on a high note, scoring 20 goals in a 20-15 whitewash of Hanford Thursday night in the Bullpups' pool. The Lemoore girls also won, scoring ten times to beat Hanford 10-2.

The boys' victory improved their West Yosemite record to 8-4, good enough for third place and a trip to the Central Section playoffs. Brackets will be announced this weekend. The boys are 18-9 overall to cap an impressive season. Lemoore's ladies finished 4-8 in the WYL and 12-16-1 overall.

Once again, Nathan Olson led all scorers with five goals, but he got plenty of help from his teammates. Spencer Denney struck paydirt four times as did Coulter Holmes with four scores. Teddy Weber managed to score three times for the Tigers, while Connor DeBurger scored twice. Denney also had four assists and five steals.

The boys’ water polo team dropped Tuesday's contest to Golden West. Trailing 10-3 to Golden West High School, staged a furious comeback in the final period, but couldn’t quite overcome its big deficit as the Tigers lost 10-9 in West Yosemite League action Tuesday night in the LHS pool.

Lemoore got three goals from Cameron Olson and a pair of scores from Spencer Denney to cut the deficit to just one goal late in the fourth quarter.

Lemoore, 7-4 in the WYL and 17-8 overall, lost three of their last four matches, including a 10-9 overtime loss on Oct. 19 to El Diamante. Lemoore will take on Hanford in the season finale Thursday (Oct. 26) in the Bullpups’ pool.

A dominant Redwood team leads the WYL with a perfect 11-0 mark after beating the Tigers twice this season, including the latest, a 14-5 win on Oct. 12.

Lemoore’s girls’ water polo squad beat Golden West 13-10 to improve to 3-8 in the WYL. Lemoore is 11-16-1 on the season.
