One of Lemoore’s top baseball players, Jared Holaday, who faces a promising senior year, signed a letter-of-intent Tuesday to play baseball for Fresno State. He signed his letter at noon at the school’s Event Center.

The talented Holaday was a 2017 All-West Yosemite League first-team pick as a junior and has been a mainstay of the Tigers’ baseball team for the past three years.

Holaday plays dual roles for the Tigers. When he’s not pitching, he plays first base for Lemoore’s varsity baseball team. He’s also steady at the plate, compiling a .386 batting average while playing flawlessly in the field.

Fresno State has a storied program, and under coach, Mike Batesole has remained a consistent winner. The Bulldogs, a member of the Mountain West Conference were 35-25 last season. The program has also been sent numerous players to the Major Leagues. Its most recent graduate, New York Yankee Aaron Judge, was recently named the American League’s Rookie of the Year.

The Bulldogs also won the College Baseball World Series championship in 2008.
