The Kings County Narcotic Task Force (KCNTF) conducted a probation search and marijuana compliance check on Friday, Dec. 15, and following an investigation arrested a suspect, William Franklin Cox.

Investigators discovered a functioning and active butane honey oil (BHO) lab.

A subsequent search on Hanford Armona Road home, investigators also discovered and seized a small amount of methamphetamine and a firearm. Cox was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail for violation of 11379.6(a) H&S and 11377(a) H&S.

While Investigators were on the property, they determined the marijuana grow out of compliance with the Kings County Ordinance.  There were approximately 173 marijuana plants at the residence.  As a result, about 460 pounds of marijuana plants were seized and destroyed.

The Narcotic Task Force confirms that BHO labs pose a danger to everyone in the community.  The potential for injury to the public, public safety personnel and the damage or loss of property because of a BHO explosion is significant.
