Lemoore’s solid soccer season came to an end Tuesday night when the boys’ team dropped a thrilling 1-0 match to visiting McLane High School in the opening round of the Division III Central Section playoffs.

The Tigers had a superb season, finishing 14-8-4 and 7-4-1 in the West Yosemite League.

It was a tight game throughout, the Tigers losing 1-0 on a fluke goal when a McLane goal appeared to bounce off a player’s left him and deflected past the Tiger goalkeeper for a score.

The Tiger had their chances, outshooting the Highlanders but failing to score.

McLane will move on to a match with No. 1 Washington Union on Thursday.
