Lemoore’s boys’ basketball team is bound for the playoffs, despite a West Yosemite League loss to Hanford the Tigers would just as soon forget. In the finale Wednesday night in Lemoore’s Event Center, the Tigers scored just 31 points in a 51-31 loss to complete a disappointing 6-6 WYL campaign.

In Hanford, the Lemoore ladies ended their season with a 67-23 loss to the dominant and unbeaten (12-0) Lady Bullpups. Lemoore finished at 6-17 overall and 4-8 in the WYL.

Lemoore’s girls kept it close in the opening stanza, trailing just 13-11 before the Bullpups went on a tear, outscoring Lemoore 20-4 in period two and 34-9 in the second half.

Lemoore’s boys played even in the WYL but ended up with an overall 15-11 record, good enough for the Central Section playoffs which begin next week. The brackets will be announced this weekend.
