Tigers open Tuesday at Tulare Union in CIF Division basketball playoffs

Lemoore’s boys’ basketball team will open the CIF Central Section Division II playoffs at Tulare Union Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Tigers are seeded 11th in the 12-team field and hope to reach the finals on March 2.

CIF Central Section Division II Bracket

Coach Joel Sligh’s Tigers were 15-11 on the season and 6-6 in the West Yosemite League. Other WYL teams in Division II include Hanford and Redwood high schools. The two teams tied for the league championships with identical 9-3 records.

The Tribe, coached by Mark Hatton, was 6-4 in the East Yosemite League and an impressive 18-10 overall.  The winner of Tuesday’s game will take on No. 3 Selma, which earned a first-round bye.
