A once-promising girls’ soccer season came to an end this past week when Lemoore’s Lady Tigers dropped a 2-1 overtime match to the Central Section No. 1 seed, Independence High School. The Falcons will host Reedley in the semifinal match Tuesday.

Lemoore’s ladies finished 12-11-3 overall and 3-7-2 in the West Yosemite League.

Independence took a 1-0 first-half lead before Lemoore booted a second-half goal to force the game into overtime, but the Falcons scored the only goal in the overtime period to fend off the Tigers. Earlier in the week, Lemoore crushed Yosemite High 6-0 in the Central Section Division 3 opener.
