Tiger track and field season continues with solid showing at George Olsen Meet at Coalinga High

Lemoore track and field athletes will compete again on Friday, March 16 in Bakersfield.

Lemoore’s varsity boys’ team took the fourth-place spot, finishing three spots behind varsity champs Dinuba High School. Lemoore’s girls’ team was third overall, behind McFarland and Hanford West, while the frosh-soph girls finished second, behind McFarland.
The frosh-soph boys were seventh in their division.
Lemoore’s top athletes were in the Lemoore girls’ 4X100 relay team, where Amaya Sanchez, D’Ajia Mitchell, Ariel Williams, and Iyahna Jones took top honors with their lightning fast 52.85. The same quartet took third in the 4X400 relay in 4:38.82.
For the boys, senior Max Tashima tied for first in the high jump. The talented athlete went 5-10 to tie two others for the top spot.
In the 100 meters, Lemoore junior, Sebastian Ramirez took sixth with his 12:03 clocking. McFarland’s Landon Cunningham McFarland won the event in 11:42. Lemoore Junior Nathan Chavez took fifth with an 18:50 in the 110 hurdles, and in the 300 hurdles, the Tigers’ Nathen Blankenship and Nathan Chavez, were seventh and eighth respectively.
Lemoore’s 4X400 relay team of Joseph De La Mora, Colby Bush, Aaron Villareal, Logan Scammell finished second in 3:48.51, while In the shotput Lemoore junior Luis Lopez Jr. took third with 43-02 toss. Senior Manuel Morales was sixth with his throw of 38-10.50.
In the pole vault, Lemoore’s sophomore Ryan White vaulted 10-6 top finished fourth overall. The Tigers’ freshman Trevor Heck also cleared his jump at 10-6.
In the long jump, junior Amier Hollis was Lemoore’s top finisher, placing fifth with his 18-2 effort. Hollis also recorded a third-place showing in the triple jump with a 39-9 leap.
For the girls, Iyahna Jones took second in the 100 meters with her 13.36 run. Junior Anaya Keller-Jones did a 1:14.08 effort in the 400 to finish fifth.
Senior Jennifer Dolores was sixth in the 3200, running the course in 14.41.17.
Senior Paige Wheeler (19.92) and junior Isabell Zanic (20.10) were third and fourth in the women’s 100 hurdles, while junior Isabel Zanic took second in the 200 hurdles with her 55.76 time.
In the high jump, junior Iriana Ayon took second with her 4-06 jump, while over in the pole vault junior Michelle Valdivia, sophomore Jamie Houston, and freshman Hannah Raber tied at 6- even good enough for fourth place in the pole vault.
