Lemoore police officers arrested a South Carolina man for intentionally colliding his vehicle into his ex-girlfriend’s car while she parked at a convenience store, and just moments before striking another vehicle occupied at the time by an adult female and her two children.

Following his arrest, police booked him into the Kings County Jail on a $2,210,000 bail.

The incidents occurred Monday, March 19, at about 12:06 a.m., Lemoore Police officers quickly responded to the altercation at the Lemoore Fastrip, located at 775 N. Lemoore Ave.

Reports indicate it was a male, later identified as Damian Alston, a 26-year-old from South Carolina, who police say intentionally collided his vehicle into his ex-girlfriend’s car. Alston then fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

As officers responded, they received a report of another traffic collision at Follett and G streets. Upon their arrival, officers discovered that one of the vehicles involved in the crash was the suspect’s vehicle from the incident at Fastrip.

The suspect vehicle was empty. Officers saw the victim’s car off the roadway after it has collided with a tree. Inside the victims' vehicle were an adult female driver and her two young children.

Police suspect that Alston may have been under the influence of alcohol. They say the suspect used a stolen vehicle to assault his ex-girlfriend while she was inside her car.

Officers determined that Alston ran the victim’s vehicle off the road and into a tree believing his ex-girlfriend was in the car. Upon discovering she was not in the car, he fled the scene. Officers were able to locate Alston a short distance away. Upon contacting Alston, he resisted arrest before taken into custody.

The female of the collision at Fastrip did not receive any injuries. The woman and her two children were transported to a local area hospital for significant injuries.

Police arrested the suspect on multiple charges including attempted murder, vehicle theft, criminal threats, driving while intoxicated causing injury, and resisting arrest. Alston was booked into the Kings County Jail with a bail set at $2,210,000.00.
