Lady Tigers come up big against Tulare Western 13-9 in Tulare Softball Classic

Lemoore’s varsity girls’ softball team has struggled a bit in the holiday Tulare Easter Classic. The softball ladies on Monday erupted for 13 runs in a 13-9 win over Tulare Western but opened with a 7-5 loss to Atascadero.

In the loss to the Greyhounds, Madison Wallace went two-for-two, scoring three times and driving in a pair of runs to lead the Tigers. Selina Perez also had two hits with three RBI.

Lemoore led most of the game and was ahead 4-2 in the fourth before Atascadero erupted for three runs. Lemoore tied the game in the fifth, but the Greyhounds scored twice to win in their half of the inning.

Ashtyn Lucas claimed the loss. She went nearly five innings and struck out six. She gave up seven hits on the day.

In the win over Tulare Western, Perez and Kayla Antiporda were perfect at the plate, collecting three hits in three trips to the plate. Antiporda scored twice and drove home a run.

Susannah Campos had a classic turn at the plate, going two for four and driving home four runs.

Tigers bats came alive against the Mustangs as nearly every Tiger managed to get a hit. Lucas earned the victory giving up four hits and five runs. Tomi Ford started the game and allowed five hits and four runs.
