Despite hitting on all cylinders, Lemoore’s varsity girls’ softball team fell to 1-2 in the West Yosemite League after Tuesday’s disappointing 11-9 loss to El Diamante. The Tigers hope to rebound when they host Golden West Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

Lemoore is 9-10 overall, dropping below the .500 mark all season, especially after faring none-too-well in weekend tournaments.

The Tigers were indeed impressive at the plate on Tuesday, collecting 16 hits and they were leading 7-4 in the fifth inning when the Miners scored seven times to take the lead. Lemoore scored five runs in the fourth to overcome a 1-0 El Diamante advantage.

Shelly Jobe and Sierra Phelps led the Tigers with three hits apiece. Phelps knocked home three runs to lead her team. Selina Perez, Kiara Elizalde, and Megan Van Allen each had a pair of hits.

Ashtyn Lucas and Tomi Ford each went three innings for the Tigers. Ford was tagged with the loss. Combined both pitchers gave up just ten hits.
