Lemoore police officers suffered minor injuries when they attempted to place a knife-wielding suspect under arrest on Sunday morning, April 22. The suspect also sustained minor injuries but was treated.

It was about 6:10 a.m. Sunday morning when officers arrived on the scene at Hanford Armona Road and located Bradley Williams, 49, carrying two knives and not wearing a shirt. According to police, he was yelling something about children.

The officers tried to talk to Williams, but according to police reports he appeared agitated and refused to comply with the officers’ requests. Instead, he was threateningly swinging his knives. Officers continued their effort to get him to drop the knives.

A K-9 officer arrived, and Williams dropped the knife, but still refused to comply with officers’ orders. He walked towards the officers and assaulted them, punching them in the facial area. The police overcame Williams and placed him under arrest.

Bradley was placed under arrest and booked into the Kings County Jail for threatening a police officer and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
