Tigers struggle in demanding WYL softball race

By The Leader Staff

The hurting continues as Lemoore’s varsity girls’ softball team dropped a disappointing West Yosemite League game to Hanford West in a Monday afternoon game in Hanford. Lemoore fell to 1-6 in the league race and 9-14 overall.

The Tigers will return home for a league game against Redwood on Thursday, April 26. Game time is 4:30 p.m.

Lemoore could muster just five hits in Monday’s loss in Visalia. Madison Wallace led the Tigers with two.

Lemoore trailed West 6-0 before the Tigers managed to score a pair of runs in the second inning. They were shutout the rest of the way as Hanford West held on for the win and improved to a league-leading 7-1 record. The Huskies are tied with Redwood for the league’s top spot.
