Police say that a homeless man turned himself into their office, two days after he is suspected of stabbing a male victim on April 22 at about 5:45 p.m. on East Hazelwood Dr. in Lemoore.

It was on that day that police officers arrived on the scene to find a Hispanic adult make, about 30 years old, with a stab wound to his abdomen. The victim quickly received emergency attention and then was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

He was reported in stable condition.

Police identified the suspected assailant as Bruce Guadalupe Gonzales, 28, who was known to the victim and was believed by police to be homeless. He was last seen fleeing the area riding a bicycle after the crime occurred.

But on April 24 Gonzales contacted the Lemoore Police Department and turned himself in. He was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail for attempted homicide.
