Stonnie Utah Dodd, 72, was surrounded by his family when he peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 13, 2018. Stonnie was born in Hanford on September 16, 1945. He was raised in Lemoore, California and lived there until he was 71 years old.

In 2017, he moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where he lived the remainder of his life. Stonnie Dodd graduated with the Class of 1963 from Lemoore High School and wed in 1965. He was married to the love of his life, Sandra Davis, for 45 years before Sandra was called home by the Lord. Today, they are reunited in eternity.

The Lemoore native retired from Dodd’s Barbershop in 2016, where he worked with his father and brother. With the exception of a 15-year stint at Foremost Creamery, Stonnie Dodd worked as a barber in the family business since 1964; however, he was more than just a barber. He genuinely cared about those who crossed paths with him, especially in the barbershop or during his daily walk. He was a man who loved God, cared about his family, was involved as a head coach for little league, served for his country in the National Guard, volunteered as a fireman for the Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department from 1970 to 1978, enjoyed conversation with the people from his small town, and loved to fill his retirement with activities surrounding his grandkids.

Stonnie is survived by his four children: son Erik Dodd and wife Kimberlee of Hanford, son Timothy Dodd and fiancé Kelli Dias of Clovis, daughter Lesa Sanchez and husband Anthony of Grants Pass, son Robert Dodd and wife Jeriese of Irvine; 16 grandchildren: Anthony, Aricha, Jordan, Corey, Kyle, Cristina, Megan, Sarah, Brianna, Aubree, Treston, Brielle, Landon, Gabriella, Mia, Michael; 8 great-grandchildren; his brother Garland Dodd and wife Cheri of Lemoore; and seven nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Sandra (Davis) Dodd and both parents Durward and Juanita Dodd.

Stonnie Dodd loved his late wife, spending time with family, racing, fishing, camping, and outdoor activities. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for his family, his witty jokes, his catchphrase responses, his generous love, and his undeniable sweet tooth.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 20 at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday the 21st at the Lemoore Cemetery. For those interested, a gathering following the service will be announced.

While we grieve his passing and will miss him dearly, we hold onto the truth that he has reached everlasting peace alongside Jesus Christ, has been reunited with his bride, and will one day be reunited with the rest of his family.

Friends who wish can make donations in Stonnie’s memory to American Cancer Society, 2222 W. Shaw Ave., #201. Fresno, CA 93711.
