Local businessman, former mayor, Howard Lambert passes away at 93 years old

Local businessman and former Lemoore mayor, Howard Lambert, passed away peacefully on July 24th in Lemoore. He was 93 years old.

Lambert was born on June 6, 1925, to Oscar and Jessie Lambert of Lemoore. He was an only child and spent his entire life here. He attended local schools before serving in the U.S. Army during WWII.

After his service in the Army, he attended what is now Fresno State and earned a BS in Business Administration. He returned to Lemoore and became a self-employed businessman. He owned and operated Lambert's Auto Wrecking for 30 years before retiring.

He also served his community as a Lemoore City Councilman and mayor. He served as mayor from 1966 to 1067. He married Leota Lambert, and they had two sons. After Leota's passing in 1980, Howard traveled the world.

He leaves behind his sons, George and wife Cyndi Lambert of Visalia, David and wife Donna Lambert of Lemoore as well as his four grandchildren: Morgan, Spencer, and Kent of Lemoore and Dalton of Visalia.

Private services were held. Arrangements are under the direction of Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore.
