Neighborhood video surveillance helps local police nab motorcycle thief suspect

Neighborhood video surveillance helped the Lemoore Police Department make an arrest in the theft of a motorcycle on July 22 that occurred sometime at 11 p.m. that night.

It was about 1:20 p.m. on July 23 that the Lemoore Police Department received a report of a stolen motorcycle from a residence on19th Ave. The victim reported that sometime between 11 p.m. on the night of the 22nd and 1 p.m. on the 23rd, an unknown suspect or suspects stole his 2017 Suzuki Motorcycle.

The officer taking the initial report checked the area and located video surveillance nearby. The officer was able to obtain a copy of the video and the case was sent to the department’s detective for follow-up.

Detectives interviewed additional witnesses and neighbors and during the investigation were able to identify Brycen Ayala, 18, of Hanford as one of three suspects in this case. Ayala also was identified as the owner of the vehicle used to haul the motorcycle away.

On August 15, Ayala was located and arrested by Lemoore officers in the at a site on Faun Lane. He was booked into the Kings County Jail for charges of motor vehicle theft and conspiracy to commit a crime. His bail was set at $100,000.
