Lemoore’s varsity girls’ volleyball team fell to 2-2 in the preseason with a pair of losses this past week to Tulare Union and Kingsburg. The Tigers hope to rebound on Tuesday against visiting Coalinga.

On Thursday the Tigers dropped a 3-0 decision to the Redskins before succumbing to Kingsburg in Thursday’s match 3-2. In that Thursday match, the Tigers took the contest to the fifth match before losing 15-13.

Lemoore Lost the first two matches 26-24, 25-21 before turning things around with 21-25 and 26-24 wins to set up the tiebreaker.

“Kingsburg has a good sports program in general and their volleyball team is good this year. They’re tall and powerful,” said Tiger Head Coach Valarie Burkett. “Our girls played well. We came up just a little short.”

Burkett singled out the play of libero Osiris Sisco, the team’s playmaker. “She played amazing defense and passed well,” said Burkett. “She just did her job.”
