Lemoore will need a boost in its ego as it hopes to rebound from a disappointing 35-0 loss at Tulare Western on Thursday. The Tigers hit the road again Friday for a non-league matchup with perennial foe Sanger. The Tigers face a team that already shares a familiar opponent, a fact that may bode well for the 2-1 Lemoore squad.

Both squads have played Clovis East, the Tigers, a 7-6 winner in the season opener and the Apaches, a 14-8 loser to the Timberwolves in their most recent outing last week.

However, Sanger also had a pair of solid victories under its belt, a 45-0 shutout of Reedley, and a 48-28 win over the Tigers' West Yosemite League rival Hanford.

In last week’s Thursday outing Lemoore couldn’t get its offense moving as the Mustangs hit on all cylinders as they improved to 3-0 as they prepare for the East Yosemite League race.

For starters, the Mustangs managed to shut down the Lemoore's running game, led by senior back Brandon Hargrove. The talented Tiger rushed seven times for just 31 yards in the game. He still led the Tigers in rushing, but he and his teammates mustered only 58 yards on the ground.

Hargrove also caught four passes for 31 yards. Amier Hollis led the Tigers in pass receptions with seven, good enough for 56 yards.

Once again, Tiger quarterback Justin Holaday fared well, completing 20 of 40 passes for 189 yards.

On defense, William Kloster and Jalen Daniels continued their impressive ways. Both led the team with nine tackles apiece.

But the two standouts and the Tiger defense failed to stop Tulare Western’s Tairyn Johnson who rushed for a game-high 183 yards and three touchdowns. As a team the Mustangs had 288 yards on the ground and moved the ball efficiently, rushing an average of 6.9 yards per handoff.

On defense, the Mustangs picked off Holaday five times on the night.
