A 41-year-old Lemoore man was arrested by Lemoore police officers Sept. 15, on suspicion of rape after police responded to Adventist Medical Center early Saturday morning where the victim reported the crime.

An officer immediately began an investigation, discovering the incident started at a bar on North Lemoore Avenue and then ended at the suspect’s residence, also in Lemoore. The case was turned over to Lemoore detectives who later arrested a suspect, Jeremy Harwell.

Detectives learned through witness statements that the unidentified adult female was at the bar Friday night and left early Saturday morning with a man she knew. Witnesses told police that the victim may have been incapacitated and was unable to care for herself after leaving the bar.

The victim reported the crime hours later at the hospital. The detectives served the suspect with a search warrant at his residence and arrested Harwell. He was booked at the Kings County Jail for a violation of PC 261 (a) (3) and PC 289 (e).
