Lemoore police officers, working with their counterparts in Reedley and Corcoran, arrested a suspect in a Sept. 27 robbery of a check cashing business in Lemoore. During their initial investigation, officers learned that similar type of crimes had occurred in Reedley and Corcoran.

It was on Sept. 27 at about 12:15 p.m. that local officers arrived at the check cashing store on North Lemoore Avenue and learned that a suspect walked into the business, waited for other customers to leave the store, and then showing a handgun to a clerk, robbed the store. The suspect demanded an undisclosed amount of money and then left the store.

Investigators from Lemoore, Reedley, and Corcoran began working together to identify the suspect in these similar cases. After reviewing several hours of video from multiple sources and neighboring businesses, investigators were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle which ultimately led to the identification of Dameond Keshon Young, 38 years old, of Fresno. It was determined that Young was also on CDC Parole for PC 211 (Robbery).

A warrant was issued for Young’s arrest and with the assistance of the Fugitive Apprehension Team from the California Department of Corrections; he was taken into custody in Fresno. Young was booked into the Fresno County Jail on a warrant for armed robbery, and his bail was set at $720,000. He is also being held on a parole violation.
