Lemoore’s varsity girls’ basketball team may have found its groove Tuesday night, defeating the visiting Hanford West Huskies 65-56 to even its non-league record to 1-1 as the Corcoran Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament looms. The Lady Tigers were slated to open today (Nov. 28) against Wasco and will play games on Thursday thru Saturday.

Tuesday’s home opener against the Huskies was apparently a non-league game that the Tigers had well in hand by the end of the first half. Leading 31-27, Lemoore outscored the Huskies 34-29 in the second half to win.

The Tigers will see plenty of holiday tourney action. The Tigers open play in the Hoover Holiday Classic next week, Dec. 5 before returning for a non-league home contest against Tulare Union on Dec. 11.

Lemoore’s boys’ team will attempt to improve its record to 2-0 when they take on Bakersfield Christian in Thursday’s opening round of the Immanuel Tournament of Champions Tournament. The Tigers have games slated for Friday and Saturday’s final day.
