Sports Roundup: Lemoore High teams plan annual hoops and soccer holiday tournaments

Lemoore’s varsity boys’ basketball team will try to improve upon its 3-1 record tomorrow night (Dec. 4) when they travel to Hanford for a matchup with Hanford West. The Tigers are coming off a respectable showing in the Immanuel Tournament of Champions.

Lemoore defeated Bakersfield Christian 61-58, dropped a 59-49 decision to Mt. Whitney and then defeated Kingsburg 74-48.

The Lemoore Lady Tigers improved to 4-2 on the season as they begin play in the Hoover Tournament Wednesday, Dec. 5, with a game against Exeter High School. The Tigers went 3-1 defeating Wasco 61-42 in the opener on Nov. 28, following that up with a 65-14 victory over Woodlake.

The Tigers dropped a 60-33 decision to Tulare Union before rounding out the tourney with a 46-19 win over Wonderful College Prep Academy.

In other sports action, Lemoore’s varsity boys’ soccer team improved to 3-1, winning three times in the Paso Robles Cats and Hounds Tournament. Lemoore lost its opener 3-1 to Dos Pueblos then rolled to three straight over Cabrillo High School 6-0, Atascadero 4-0, and Nipomo 6-0.

The Tigers open play on Dec. 7 in the annual Jim Inglis Varsity Soccer Tournament.
