Lemoore’s varsity girls’ basketball team fell to 5-5 on the season after a disappointing loss to Tulare Union in the Tigers’ Event Center Tuesday night (Dec. 11). The Tribe came into Tuesday’s contest unbeaten at 8-0 and left Lemoore with a relatively close 57-48 win.

Early on it looked as if Tulare would have an easy time with the home Tigers as the Tribe built a 16-4 first quarter lead. The Tigers turned things around, outscoring Tulare the rest of the way 44-41, but it just wasn’t enough as the visitors managed to hold on for the win.

It’s tournament time in December as the Lady Tigers next action is against Monache on Dec. 27 in the Tulare Mid-Winter Showcase at 11:30 a.m.

The varsity boys (4-1) begin tournament play Thursday (Dec. 13) when they travel to the coast for the San Luis Obispo Basketball Challenge. The Tigers play Nipomo High School Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

The Tigers are expected to play Pioneer Valley on Friday and San Luis Obispo on Saturday.
