Lemoore police officers responded to a call on Cabrillo Street at about 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 17 to find a 14-year-old youth with a stab wound to his abdomen and two other assault victims.

The officers rendered aid to the stabbing victim until EMS responders arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Lemoore officers began their investigation and identified a suspect, whom they believe was a teenage male with gang affiliation. The police arrived at the suspect’s residence and identified a vehicle belonging to him. As the police attempted to contact the occupants of the car, two suspects fled the scene.

Police detained the two remaining suspects, one a 15-year-old male and an 18-year-old male. Both were taken to the Lemoore Police Department where police say the older suspect admitted to his involvement in the stabbing. Police identified the 18-year-old suspect as Juan Alvarado Jr., from Orange Cove. Police released the juvenile pending further investigation.

Alvarado was booked into the Kings County Jail on conspiracy to commit crimes, attempted homicide, and a gang enhancement. His bail was set at $605,000.

The Lemoore Police Department is actively investigating the incident, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Investigator's Kurtz or Pescatore with the Lemoore Police Department at 559-924-9574.
