Tiger boys' basketball, soccer continue winning ways as Lady Tigers fall to Rangers

Lemoore’s girls’ basketball team dropped a key West Yosemite League contest Wednesday night in Lemoore, falling 57-33 to Redwood High School. The Tiger boys continued their hold on the WYL league with their victory over the Rangers.

Lemoore's girls got 15 points from Amaya Sanchez eight points from Sophia Ramirez to lead the Tigers. Sanchez scored eight of her points in the second quarter to cut the Rangers’ lead to 23-15 at the halfway mark.

The Lady Rangers were ahead of the Tigers the entire game as Lemoore fell to 2-4 in league play and 9-11 overall. The Rangers are 5-1 in the WYL and are an impressive 18-5 overall. Redwood is just one game behind league-leading Hanford’s 6-0 record.

The Tigers host El Diamante tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s Event Center.

Lemoore’s boys continue their winning ways with a 65-61 victory over Redwood in Visalia. Lemoore used a 21-point third quarter to break away from the tenacious Rangers. Lemoore currently leads the WYL with a perfect 6-0 record. They are 15-5 overall.

In Lemoore soccer action the Tiger boys' Armando Salinas scored the 2-1 go-ahead goal late in the Thursday night in Tiger Stadium. Lemoore held on to defeat Redwood 3-2 in overtime.

The Tigers boys improved to 5-1 in the WYL and 11-4-2 overall. Lemoore is just a half game behind El Diamante in the WYL standings.

Redwood held on to its second-place position in the WYL with a 9-0 win over the Tigers in Visalia on Wednesday night. The Tigers fell to 0-6 in league play and are 4-10-2 overall.
