Lemoore’s varsity baseball team improved to 3-5 in its pre-season schedule with a convincing 8-1 victory over visiting Sunnyside High on Tuesday. The game was the latest salvo in the Central Valley Diamond Classic. The Tigers continue preseason play when they visit Firebaugh Friday afternoon.

Tigers 2019 Schedule

The Tigers got solid pitching from starter Justin Holaday and an exceptional plate performance from Abel Garza to dominate the visiting Wildcats. Garza was superb at the plate. In three at-bats, the talented junior had two hits -  both triples – scored twice and brought home three RBI.

Holaday pitched the Tigers to their latest victory, going five innings, allowing just three hits and one run. He struck out five and walked only three. Holaday helped himself at the plate too, getting a pair of hits – a double and triple – and scoring twice to add to the Tigers’ totals.

The Tigers have a full schedule of games coming up including the West Yosemite League opener at Redwood High School on March 29. Lemoore will also play in the annual Clovis Easter Classic Tournament that begins April 15 with a game at Clovis High School.
