Shots fired Sunday night in Lemoore. Victim of gunshot wound dies in Fresno hospital

A 31-year-old man died late Sunday night and was believed to be the victim of a gunshot wound to his torso area. He died after being transported from Lemoore to the Fresno Community Regional Medical Center. Police did not release the identity of the victim.

It was at about 10:22 p.m. Sunday (June 16) when Lemoore police officers responded to Lemoore’s Avocado Drive following a report of gunshots fired. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered a disturbance involving several subjects and at least two vehicles. A Lemoore officer happened to be in the area of Avocado Drive at the time of the call and heard gunshots.

He conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving the area at the time of the call and found the victim with a gunshot wound to his torso in the car.

The victim was transported to Fresno where he died from his wounds.
