Sarah Mooney Museum celebrates bricks with free Saturday Starlight Concert on the east lawn
The concert begins at 7 p.m. on the museum’s east lawn.
An entirely new set of engraved bricks was installed along the Mooney’s front walkway by a hearty volunteer crew on Friday (July 19) that consisted of the museum’s board president, Michael Betcher, Dave and Jeanine Simas, and Dean Lahodny.
Board members plan to continue this successful fundraising campaign that acknowledges donors with engraved bricks. The program was on a hiatus for several years and was revived last fall.
“Folks really like seeing their family, organization, and business names memorialized in stone,” said Betcher. “Going back along the walkway, many earlier donors are no longer with us, but they are certainly not forgotten.”

Deadline for inclusion in the next brick order will be September 28. Those bricks will be ordered and installed before the Museum’s annual Christmas Open House event on December 1.
The minimum donation for a 4 x 8-inch engraved brick is $100; minimum for an 8 x 8 engraved brick is $500. Funds raised by the sale of bricks is used for Sarah Mooney Museum renovation projects, several currently in the planning stages.
The Museum is totally dependent on private donations and fundraising events such as the Annual Legends of Lemoore Cemetery Walk (scheduled for Saturday, September 28). The Museum receives no public funding.
