Investigators seek information regarding theft of safe from county home

Kings County Sheriff’s Office investigators are seeking information regarding the theft of metal safe from a Grangeville Blvd. property on Dec. 12 at about 11 a.m. It was about that time that King's deputies responded to the report of a burglary.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they saw severe damage to the north side of the residence and upon further investigation discovered that a large steel safe had been taken.

Law enforcement officials determined that in the residence’s office, a large gray metal safe was detached from the floorboards and dragged out of the residence – through a north office wall – using a tow rope and possibly chains.

Missing items include firearms, cash, silver bars, baseball memorabilia, coin collections, a Rolex watch, a gold band with diamonds, signed photographs of OJ Simpson and Bruce Jenner, as well as paperwork and documents for a business.

Fresno Police Department later recovered an empty safe in Fresno.  This safe has been processed and submitted for forensic analysis. Evidence was collected from the scenes and is currently being processed.

The Kings County Sheriff's Office is currently following up on several leads. If anyone has any additional information regarding this case, please contact and leave a message for Detective Mazza at the Kings County Sheriff's Office at 559-852-4647.
