Kings County Sheriff's Department deputies were forced into a 30-mile pursuit after attempting to stop a vehicle containing five suspects in a Saturday, Jan. 25 robbery attempt.
The incident, which began at approximately 4:30 p.m., occurred near 11th Avenue and Excelsior. Deputies interviewed the victim who told deputies that when he pulled over to use his cell phone, he was approached by several Hispanic males who he said robbed him at gunpoint, taking some of his personal property.
The victim was not injured during the robbery.
According to the Kings County Sheriff's Department report, a short time later, deputies located the suspect vehicle in the area. When they attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, it immediately took off, leading the law enforcement officers on a nearly 30-mile chase.
While pursuing the vehicle, the suspects were seen by officers throwing several items from the car, including two semi-automatic handguns, one of which deputies later confirmed was stolen out of Fresno County.
The pursuit eventually concluded in Parlier, where police arrested all five suspects. Deputies booked the suspects into the Kings County Jail for various charges, including robbery, possession of stolen property, weapons offenses, and felony pursuit.
